About Us

Our Story

MuttButts came into creation to celebrate the animals in our lives and to share the love they bring. It is our goal to promote merchandise that allows people to enjoy the funny side of animal life while raising awareness for the shelter dogs across the country, including the animals that call Linn County Animal Rescue (LCAR) home. After creating handmade shirts for events such as parades and open houses- including capes and costumes for the horses to wear- we decided to take it to the next level and started MuttButts so that others could enjoy these products while knowing their purchases were helping to support the sanctuary. Featured items always generate a 10% donation. We also run fundraisers for different rescue groups across the country, focusing on those dedicated to getting dogs out of kill shelters. It breaks our hearts that over 350,000 dogs were euthanized in the US last year for NO fault of their own- they were murdered because shelters nationwide are out of space, out of money and out of help, and out of hope. Muttbutts is committed to stopping as many of these senseless deaths as we can. Any custom item showing off your mutt’s butts (or any 4-legged butt, we don't discriminate!) will generate a donation of 20% going directly to support the animals with a focus on covering medical expenses. (For example, our current Rights fundraiser is to generate support for a rescue that has the kind of medical bills that would cover our mortgage for a year, we hope this gives you an idea of what these dedicated advocates take on every day try and save as many lives as humanely possible.)

Simply email us at muttbuttsshop@gmail.com with "custom order" in the subject line and we will contact you directly.

What if my image won't work on a shirt?

Sometimes due to image size or photo resolution, we are unable to generate a clear print big enough for a shirt. Don't worry- if this is the case, we will try your image on other items with different size requirements like candles, tumblers or tote bags so you won't miss out.

Why do the products with animal butts generate a higher donation?

At MuttButts, we understand the kind of joy wiggle butts bring. We all love a little junk in the trunk, especially when a good chunk of rescues arrive so emaciated that it is difficult to walk, so sharing the jiggles and the wiggles seemed like an obvious choice to get people laughing while they shop to help non-profit rescues.

** We cannot stress enough that this offer is ONLY good
for our four-legged friends.**

Why don't pre-designed items or items without butts generate a donation?

Unfortunately, we still have to pay for responsible things such as supplies, domain and website support, processing fees, and staff. These items help cover those costs.

Why are you trying to raise money for LCAR?

As a non-profit, LCAR is 100% volunteer run. We do not receive any funding outside of donations from our supporters. Animals, especially those in need of intense medical care, are expensive. LCAR currently houses two barns full of horses, cows, and sheep in addition to a stand-alone building for our dogs, who are primarily seniors, or under hospice. It has been an ongoing struggle to make sure we are able to provide proper care and housing for everyone we help rescue. We are also working towards getting re-verified by GFAS so we can get grants on the animal side. The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries has 95% of the animal foundations as part of their program. This process will involve some costly projects including barn repairs and fencing. We like to post pictures and talk about what we are doing, so please follow our website and social media pages to stay up-to-date while helping raise awareness for our sanctuary and all of our beloved creatures:

One last thing... rescue fatigue is very, very real. Unless you have been in the trenches, you couldn't imagine what some of these poor souls have been through, many of whom never get to leave their concrete prisons. Take a second to imagine what that heartbreak does to the mental health of the people trying to save them every single day. Now go hug your shelter volunteer friend; we know you have one. Think about getting involved if you can, and if you can't, donate a bag of dog food with that hug and be forewarned, you will likely make that volunteer friend cry with that simple gesture. Thank you all for your continued support!
